Music Genres
Music genres contain ranges categories which music is placed, defining the music type this can include rock which is loud and fast and classical which is smooth, slow and peaceful. Hybrid genres include two different genres combining together creating one genre this can include genres such as pop and rock combining becoming ‘pop rock’ also another example is Folk Rock. This allows different audiences to be interested in the hybrid genre gathering different audiences becoming one.
Markets & Magazines
There are two different markets in the music industry including: niche and mass market. Niche markets are commonly small however very specific on types of music; whilst the mass market appeals to a large audience with simple marketing strategy that dominates mass distribution and mass media. Niche market magazines include ‘Classic Pop’ which clearly appeals to certain groups of people. Mass markets magazines include ‘Q’, this type of music magazines appeal to a wide audience.
